SEASON 17 FINAL REGULAR SEASON POWER RANKINGS
Pre-Playoff Edition
by
Updated on: Thu, February 11, 2021 at 12:49 MST
The League 1 Pre-Playoff Power Rankings are just a
shot in the dark at predicting who will be the
Season 17 NHOL Cup Champion.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
1 |
Detroit
RED WINGS |
NickH2 |
34 GP,
27-7-0, 54 pts. |
Lemonade is the reigning champ. His second half of the
season has been a great half. Even the great players
feel the pressure going for those back to back L1 NHOL
Cups. I would not bet against Nick. |
2 |
San Jose
SHARKS |
Ryne |
34 GP,
29-5-0, 58 pts. |
He is young and he is a stud gamer. Some people think
Ryne will take the champ down and it should be will be
must see streaming with a Detroit San Jose final. |
3 |
Edmonton
OILERS |
LucasS |
34 GP,
25-8-1, 51 pts. |
Lucas has been clicking all season long with the Oilers.
His best season so far in the league. I see him making a
run in the playoffs with the Sharks waiting for the
west. |
4 |
St. Louis
BLUES |
PeterW |
34 GP,
24-9-1, 49 pts. |
Peter attacked his schedule this season and has been
without a doubt the most active L1 player. He plays to
win and no challenge is too big for him. He has played
superbly with the Blues in Season 17. |
5 |
Montreal
CANADIENS |
JohnnyA |
34 GP,
22-9-3, 47 pts. |
Johnny is lightning in Versus. He is always a tough
matchup, the big question is can he take down the Champ
at some point. |
6 |
Winnipeg
JETS |
MattG |
29 GP,
22-7-0, 44 pts. |
The league Admin is a grizzled veteran and is playing
his best game. No stranger to pressure he has been in
multiple Cup game 7 finals. A student of the game and
probably now has sized up the guys at the top. |
7 |
New York
ISLANDERS |
AlanH |
31 GP,
20-8-3, 43 pts. |
Alan is like an assassin sitting quietly in the wings.
Some think he coasted during the regular season, and has
yet to show his best game play. Look for him to rev
things up in round 2. |
8 |
Buffalo
SABRES |
NikV |
27 GP,
20-5-2, 42 pts. |
Nik adds more pressure to Lemon in the East. They have
played a few times now dating back to Summer league
play. Nik has an excellent game skills, and is a known
championship player. |
9 |
Carolina
HURRICANES |
LiamD |
24 GP,
17-6-1, 35 pts. |
In Liam's first season all he had to do was play a few
more games to perhaps crack the top 6 league wide. In
his first ever L1 playoff will he have the chops to get
out of round 2 in a tough Eastern Conference. |
10 |
New York
RANGERS |
Steffan |
32 GP,
18-12-2, 38 pts. |
Steff knows one thing. You can win any L1 game or lose
any L1 game. That being he said he will battle you and
if he gets a head in a series you will have your hands
filled. |
11 |
Washington
CAPITALS |
ColeK |
27 GP,
15-9-3, 33 pts. |
Cole won L1 2 seasons ago. he has the Caps with Ovi, In
a power packed East that any of 5 teams could advance
Cole will add interest to any series. |
12 |
Colorado
AVALANCHE |
Willie |
30 GP,
16-11-3, 35 pts. |
We know one thing Willie can put the puck in the net.
Will holds NHOL records for most scoring records. In the
seasons he has done great when he compliments his
defense. Look for some fireworks in his matches. I
wouldn't bet any unders in Willies games. |
13 |
Anaheim
DUCKS |
SteveW2 |
33 GP,
19-14-0, 38 pts. |
Steve has had a very good season with a Ducks team
hurting on talent. They do have a top goalie, There is
no doubt Steve can play the game, and shouldn't be fazed
by NHOL Playoff pressure. |
14 |
Columbus
BLUE JACKETS |
Monti |
31 GP,
13-15-3, 29 pts. |
No one has a more unique game play style then Monti.
This writer thinks he has taken a step back this season
as you rarely see Monti post a sub 500 record. |
15 |
Chicago
BLACKHAWKS |
MasonD |
26 GP,
13-11-2, 28 pts. |
Mason is solid. The Hawks though are missing a few
players like Toews and Dach. Mas though can play and is
always a tough competitor. |
16 |
Philadelphia
FLYERS |
PaulA |
33 GP,
11-18-4, 26 pts. |
Paul has a very good Flyer team and has had a decent
season considering the talent in L1. |
17 |
Pittsburgh
PENGUINS |
SteveW |
29 GP,
11-15-3, 25 pts. |
Steve is another battle tested L1 player. Always know
for his solid defense. |
18 |
Boston
BRUINS |
MattC |
34 GP,
16-17-1, 33 pts. |
I like what Matt has done coming in mid season and
banging out games and learning the players. Usually
players like Matt do very well with the experience of
playing against top talent. |
19 |
Nashville
PREDATORS |
DwayneL |
31 GP,
14-14-3, 31 pts. |
Dwayne a former L1 plyer who has gracefully subbed into
L1 has been playing great. |
20 |
Tampa Bay
LIGHTNING |
KenH |
27 GP,
10-15-2, 22 pts. |
One of the hardest working men in the NHOL. Ken has the
Bolts, great D, great O, and a great goalie. Do not
discount Ken and the Bolts. |
21 |
Vancouver
CANUCKS |
KamA |
31 GP,
11-16-4, 26 pts. |
Kam likes playing with the Canuckies. Another excellent
player. I could swap Kam with anyone 7-8 spots above the
competition is fierce in L1. |
22 |
Arizona
COYOTES |
RichR |
25 GP,
9-13-3, 21 pts. |
Rich has been banging out Versus games and has some
impressive wins lately. A top EASHL and Norris winning
defensemen can he muster enough offense with the Yotes
squad. |
23 |
New Jersey
DEVILS |
MikeS |
31 GP,
12-19-0, 24 pts. |
Mike's record is deceiving. Last years L2 champion has
played great considering he is playing with another weak
Jersey squad. All Mike needs is a better team and a
little more experience playing L1s. |
24 |
Ottawa
SENATORS |
JoshW |
33 GP,
12-20-1, 25 pts. |
Thank you Josh for your participation subbing into L1. I
like what I see he is standing up to the competition. |
25 |
Dallas
STARS |
Trocch |
27 GP,
6-19-2, 14 pts. |
Trocch has informed this reporter that he has retooled
his game, and his lifestyle. The Instagram video of him
with Snooki on the Jersey Shore this summer getting very
close created a media sensation and took away his game
concentration. He has sworn off woman, drinking, and
gambling once the playoffs begins. |
26 |
Los Angeles
KINGS |
Chase |
31 GP,
9-21-1, 19 pts. |
Bravo Chase for subbing into L1 and doing a credible job |
27 |
Toronto
MAPLE LEAFS |
CharlesM |
32 GP,
6-21-5, 17 pts. |
Charlie struggled this season but has hung in there and
played his schedule. This former underwear model turned
back to his hockey roots and has vowed to play better. |
28 |
Vegas
GOLDEN KNIGHTS |
LouisR |
34 GP,
5-25-4, 14 pts. |
Louis is 2 seasons away from playing the west finals. He
has taken a beating this season but do not sell him
short. |
29 |
Minnesota
WILD |
MarkB |
15 GP,
7-5-3, 17 pts. |
Thanks much Mark for subbing in |
30 |
Calgary
FLAMES |
JesseG |
26 GP,
4-19-3, 11 pts. |
You also Jesse |
31 |
Florida
PANTHERS |
Trev |
19 GP,
16-3-0, 32 pts. |
Could be the worst player ever in the NHOL. |
