The League 2 Pre-Playoff Power Rankings are just a shot in the dark at predicting who will be the Season 17 NHOL Cup Champion.
1 Buffalo
SABRES
AaronR 33 GP,
31-2-0, 62 pts.
Aaron has had just about a perfect season and this former L1 player looks like he headed back to the big show next season.
2 San Jose
SHARKS
MatthewA 30 GP,
26-1-3, 55 pts.
Matts 1st season in the NHOL Versus leagues has been outstanding with 1 regulation defeat and 3 OT losses. He should be making his L1 debut next season.
3 Winnipeg
JETS
DwayneL 33 GP,
24-6-3, 51 pts.
Dwayne is having his best season in a quite a few years. He is a definite contender for a NHOL Cup.
4 Washington
CAPITALS
DanM 30 GP,
22-7-1, 45 pts.
Dan has Ovi and company perhaps one of the best teams in the NHL and his play has been outstanding. The question is how will he stack up gainst teh club from Buffalo
5 Nashville
PREDATORS
RW 29 GP,
18-6-5, 41 pts.
Last season RW got knocked off in the west finals with a tough 7th game defeat. This former champ looks to return to the finals.
6 Columbus
BLUE JACKETS

The league Admin will be in the mix come playoff time. His good defense usually frustrates opponents.
7 Chicago
BLACKHAWKS

All Brady needed was more games played to be in the trop 5 or so. He has great game skills. Will the Hawks provide enough fire power for him to capture a cup?
8 Philadelphia

Ben has been a busy beaver managing his EASHL 3v3 squad but now attention will turn to the L2 playoffs. In his first season will he be able to handle the grind.
9 New Jersey

Logan came on strong at the tail end of the season and looks to make his mark in the NHOL.
10 Dallas
STARS

Joe is a battler. He has had an excellent season and has experienced the NHOL playoffs and that should help him get past round 2.
11 Minnesota

Caleb 32 GP,
19-12-1, 39 pts.
Caleb plays minor league hockey but is a major league player in the NHOL.
12 Tampa Bay
LIGHTNING

Gus the crusty veteran has the Bolts. Perhaps the team with the most talent. Gus could be ready to make a deep run in the playoffs.
13 Toronto
MAPLE LEAFS

Dan has his Leafs and another team with major talent. Just like the real Leafs is Dan ready to make that next step going forward.
14 Colorado

Jack no doubt can light the lamp with a talented Avs squad. Can he get the team playing solid D that is needed come playoff time is this scribes question.
15 Calgary

Danny last seasons L3 champ came in late this season as a sub and is just starting to learn the nuances of this year's edition.
16 Pittsburgh

This fellow from Wales will play anyone, anywhere, anytime. He has dynamic scoring abilities but will his D wake up in the playoffs.
17 Anaheim
DUCKS

Carl jumped into L2 after completed his L3 season and did a great job playing with a team with limited talent.
18 Florida
PANTHERS
Tommi 30 GP,
12-14-4, 28 pts.
Our man in Finland struggled a bit this year but in his 3rd NHOL season he knows what it takes to succeed in the NHOL playoffs.
19 Arizona
COYOTES
AlexL 30 GP,
12-15-3, 27 pts.
Alex had a great season last year and his drop off could be due to paying with those Yotes. Alex plays a straight up game with a multiple offense and always battles.
20 Ottawa

Jarod came in late as a pinch hitter and has done a credible job with the Sens. Thanks you J.
21 St. Louis

Brevin has pulled double duty playing in L3 and doing very well but has learned each level of versus play in the NHOL brings new challenges.

Marc has had a rough season by his standards. It could be he is getting game play tips from his buddy and EASHL manager Thomas.

Alex has hit a mini slump coming down the stretch with Canuckies. A closer looks at the scores shows alot of 1 goal losses. We are looking for Alex to upset a team or 2 in the playoffs.

Trev has struggled this season. Can he turn things around going forward?
25 New York

Brian had an excellent first season in the NHOL last season. This season his play as gotten a little better lately but he will have to grind it out with that young talented Rangers club.

Sean continues to trend down in his game play. Is it the surge of new talent into the NHOL or his game play. Look for him to not go down easily in the playoffs
